Cedarwood—Oil of Community

The past year of being physically isolated has helped me recognize in a whole new way how self reliant I am and how much easier it is to face challenges when I have a community behind me (thank you Queen City BNI!). Cedarwood (Juniperus virginiana) essential oil is the Oil of Community and has been a key to opening up to the support that is around me.

Cedarwood oil is distilled from US sourced red cedar trees and helps us be emotionally connected, feel a sense of belonging, and feel supported and sociable. It's a grounding oil, as most tree oils are, and can be particularly helpful for children going through challenging family changes.

It's also calming to the skin and the mind. It's a key ingredient in my homemade tick repellent (it actually works!), and in Correct X which is the dōTERRA answer to antibiotic cream. It's one of my favorites to diffuse at bedtime and I love to blend it with wild orange and Roman chamomile... Such good dreams!
