Celery Seed—Oil of Detoxing

Celery seed (Apium graveolens) oil is one I don't have in my collection yet, but after reading about it, it's now in my next Loyalty order. Here is what dōTERRA has to say about it:"The plant takes two years to fully mature and produce its small fruit, which are tan to brown in color. The seeds are the primary repository for essential oil. Limonene, the dominant constituent, puts Celery Seed oil in the same league as the refreshing citrus peel and fir needle oils. Soothing digestive issues is one of the many benefits of Celery Seed essential oil. Experimental research suggests that it may soothe muscles and help joint discomfort when taken internally."

According to my emotions book, Celery seed oil is the Oil of Detoxing and helps up journey into emotional or physical detox to restore our internal equilibrium, leading us to better outcomes. It aids in releasing anything that is not supporting well-being.

It has a warm spicy aroma and can be diffused or applied to reflex points. Most commonly it's used internally by drinking it in water, adding it to a gel cap and swallowing it, or added to cooking. When cooking with oils, add them last or to cold dishes as the oils evaporate quickly when exposed to heat. I can picture this in salad dressings, potato salad, refrigerator pickles, meat marinades... Can't wait to have it in my kitchen!
